MAGNESIUM SALTS While there are many forms of magnesium out there (often called magnesium salts), Super Magnesium intentionally features magnesium hydroxide and magnesium citrate for several reasons. Magnesium hydroxide and magnesium citrate are considered highly bioavailable -- they are easily absorbed and utilized within the body. Combining these magnesium salts with melon juice concentrate increases the efficiency of these two types of magnesium and their ability to target areas of the body where they're needed most!

The type of magnesium ingested is actually not as critical as many would have you believe. When you ingest magnesium in any form, it ends up in the stomach first. The stomach is a very acidic environment and the magnesium salt breaks down into magnesium ions. These ions are is what is absorbed.

Young Living's goal in choosing a magnesium salt was to find the cleanest, most natural source possible with no contaminants. That led them to magnesium hydroxide and magnesium citrate sourced from natural sea water.
